Privacy policy
Last updated 8 September 2026
This policy explains what Easy Image Converter (https://easyimageconverter.net) does and does not collect. It is written to be read rather than to be defensible, so it is shorter and plainer than most.
Your images are never uploaded
Every conversion, compression and resize on this site runs inside your own web browser, using JavaScript and WebAssembly that was downloaded to your device along with the page. Your files are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. We never receive them, never store them, and could not produce them if asked.
You do not have to take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and convert a file — no request carrying your image will appear. You can also disconnect from the internet after this page has loaded and the tools will continue to work, which would be impossible if a server were involved.
What we do collect
Server logs. Like every website, requests for pages and files are logged by our hosting provider. These logs may include your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time of the request. They are used to keep the site running and to detect abuse, and are retained for a short period by the host.
Local storage. We store your light or dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device and is not a cookie sent to any server. You can clear it at any time through your browser's site data settings.
We do not ask for or store your name, email address or any account. There is no account to create.
Advertising
This site currently carries no advertising and loads no advertising scripts. If that changes, this policy will be updated first and you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people reach and which converters are worth improving. It is loaded only if you agree to analytics cookies — decline, or ignore the banner, and the script is never fetched, so nothing is recorded at all.
If you do agree, Google Analytics stores a randomly generated identifier in a first-party cookie so that repeat visits within a session are not double-counted. It records the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, the site that referred you, and your device and browser type. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses; addresses are used in transit to derive a coarse location and are then discarded.
We do not upload the identifier anywhere else, do not combine it with other data, and have no way to work out who you are from it. We never send Google anything about the images you convert, because we never receive them in the first place.
You can withdraw consent at any time from the cookie settings link in the footer. Google also publishes a browser add-on that blocks Analytics on every site attools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, this is straightforward.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the CCPA you have rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you beyond transient server logs, so in practice there is nothing to access or delete. You are welcome to write to us and confirm this.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will change and the previous version will be replaced. Continuing to use the site after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
