Reporting a conversion that failed

Image formats have a great many variants and some files genuinely will not decode. To make a bug report actionable, please include:

• The exact page you were on
• The source format and roughly where the file came from — an iPhone, a scanner, a particular website
• Your browser and operating system, with versions
• Any error message shown next to the file
• Anything visible in the browser console, if you know how to open it

Please do not attach the image itself in your first email. We would rather not receive your files — that is the whole premise of the site. If reproducing the problem turns out to require a sample, we will ask.

Corrections

If something written here is wrong, say so and it will be corrected. Technical accuracy matters more than looking authoritative.

What we cannot help with

• Recovering a file you converted — we never had a copy of it
• Advising whether a particular photograph will satisfy a visa or exam authority. Check with them.
• Bulk or API access. There is no API; the tools run in your browser by design.
